About William Anderson
My core expertise lies in the fields of technology, security, and problem solving. I have always been driven by my passion for these subjects, which led me to pursue my education at Piedmont Virginia Community College. There, I successfully graduated with an AAS in Information Systems Technology, specializing in Cybersecurity. Throughout my education, I developed a strong foundation in problem solving and effective communication.
After completing my education, I had the opportunity to work at UVA Health as a Desktop Support Analyst. This role allowed me to further hone my skills and gain practical experience in the field. Currently, I am serving as a Data Security Associate at VCU Health, where I am responsible for safeguarding information systems to ensure their security. It is a challenging yet fulfilling role that requires constant vigilance and attention to detail.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I also enjoy incorporating security measures and technological advancements into my personal life. Recently, I completed a comprehensive overhaul of my home network using Ubiquiti products. I take great pride in implementing radius authentication for secure networking and employing VLANs for network segmentation. Itβs a hobby that allows me to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology and security.
I am concurrently pursuing my bachelorβs degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at Western Governors University. This academic pursuit allows me to expand my knowledge and stay at the forefront of industry developments. I am excited to continue my education and further enhance my skills in these areas.
